Ashok Kumar, a sanitation worker from Delhi’s Trilokpuri, lured his wife, Meenakshi, to Prayagraj under the guise of attending Mahakumbh—only to brutally murder her in a homestay on February 18.
The Motive?
Ashok was having an extramarital affair and wanted Meenakshi out of the way. He slit her throat in the bathroom, disposed of evidence, and later lied to his children, claiming she had gone missing in the crowded festival.
Police circulated Meenakshi’s photo. Her family recognized it & rushed to Prayagraj. CCTV footage + Ashok’s fake alibi exposed him.
Ashok’s son, played a key role in unmasking the truth by refusing to believe his father’s story.
