Did Police Inaction Cost Another Life?
Two days after she was reported missing, the body of 23-year-old Mitali was found wrapped in plastic in a drain near Rajpura. Her family had already reported her kidnapping, naming the prime accused, Sultan Mohammed, who had been harassing her for a long time. Yet, the police allegedly dismissed their concerns.
“She has gone from home only, not died yet,” the Investigating Officer reportedly said when Mitali’s father begged for action. Now, she is dead.
The accused have been arrested from Nepal border. Allegedly trying to cross the international border.
Mitali, a resident of Badal Colony, Zirakpur, worked at an IT park in Panchkula and had been missing since March 7.
