Woman Thrown Out by In-Laws in UP Over ₹5 Lakh Dowry Demand
A heartbreaking video from Jalalpur, Uttar Pradesh, shows Ranjana Yadav being thrown out of her husband’s house after her in-laws snatched her jewelry and demanded ₹5 lakh in dowry. Married in March last year, Ranjana had already provided a fridge, cooler, and bed as dowry, but her in-laws kept demanding more. When she resisted, she was dragged out of her marital home.
Despite dowry being illegal in India, countless women continue to suffer this violence. Police have registered a case and investigations are underway.
