A 32-year-old woman, Rekha, was fatally stabbed by her 35-year-old husband, Lohitashwa, at Sunkadakatte bus stand in Bengaluru on September 22. The attack occurred publicly as her 13-year-old daughter witnessed.
They lived in a rented house near Sunkadakatte with elder daughter, while the younger one stayed with her parents. Their marriage was strained by frequent disputes, with marital discord cited as the suspected motive. After a heated argument, Rekha left with her daughter for the bus stand, where Lohitashwa followed and resumed quarreling. When the daughter intervened, he stabbed Rekha multiple times in the chest and stomach.
Bystanders tried to intervene, but Lohitashwa brandished the knife and escaped. Rekha died instantly. Kamakshipalya Police Station filed a murder case, and Lohitashwa remains at large as authorities escalate efforts to capture him.
