A shocking incident from Hardoi, Uttar Pradesh, marred Diwali celebrations when a man named Matloof Ali was caught on camera molesting a young woman at the crowded Dhanteras market on Cinema Road. The video, captured by a bystander, showed him following and behaving indecently with the woman amid the festive rush.
As the clip went viral, police quickly identified the accused as Matloof, a 40-year-old resident of Mohliya Shivpar, and arrested him within three hours of the video’s circulation. He has been charged under Sections 354 and 509 of the IPC.
