A 20-year-old woman of Indian origin was raped in Walsall’s Park Hall area , police have labeled “racially aggravated.” The assault happened inside a property on Saturday evening by a stranger—a white man in his 30s. The victim was found in the street and she didn’t know her attacker.
West Midlands Police swiftly released CCTV images of the suspect and launched a full-scale manhunt. Detective Superintendent Ronan Tyrer called it “an absolutely appalling attack” and urged locals with dashcam or doorbell footage to come forward. “We’re leaving no stone unturned,” he said.
Community leaders confirmed the victim is of Punjabi heritage, raising fresh fears after a similar racially motivated rape of a British Sikh woman in nearby Oldbury last month. That case saw arrests, but suspects remain on bail.
Chief Superintendent Phil Dolby assured residents: “Walsall is diverse—we hear your concerns.” Forensic teams and specialist officers continue gathering evidence. Police stress this case stands alone but won’t rest until the suspect is caught.
