A disturbing incident of racial discrimination has come to light at Patna Junction, where a group of women from Arunachal Pradesh were harassed and racially abused by a woman.
The women, part of a cultural dance troupe, were stopped from using a washroom in the ladies’ waiting area. A woman asked them to show identification documents before being allowed access.
During the confrontation, the accused woman hurled racist slurs at them, calling them “momos,” “Chinese,” and using derogatory terms like “chinki.”
The victims said they felt humiliated and targeted because of their appearance and identity as people from Northeast India.
