Former Domestic Worker, Repeat Offender, Arrested in Brutal Mu*der of UPSC Aspirant
A 22-year-old UPSC aspirant, daughter of a senior IRS officer, was tragically murdered in her high-security Kailash Hills home in South Delhi on Wednesday morning. Police have arrested Rahul Meena, a former domestic worker who was fired weeks ago due to gambling debts. Exploiting his knowledge of the family’s routine, Meena entered the residence using a spare smart key hidden in a shoe rack while the victim’s parents were at the gym. Inside, he sexually assaulted the victim before blu**eoning her with a heavy lamp and strangling her with a charging cable. To evade detection, he ransacked the house for ₹2.5 lakh and changed into the victim’s brother’s clothes before fleeing the scene.
The Delhi Police apprehended Meena in Dwarka following a sophisticated digital manhunt involving 15 specialized teams and the scanning of over 100 CCTV cameras. Despite his attempts to hide by selling his phones, Meena was tracked after he logged into Instagram via a hotel’s Wi-Fi, allowing investigators to trace his IP address. The investigation further uncovered a disturbing cross-state crime spree; Meena had allegedly raped another woman in Alwar, Rajasthan, just 24 hours prior to the Delhi attack. He now faces a litany of charges across both states, including murder, rape, and robbery.
