Hyderabad: In a brave act in Begum Bazar, an auto-rickshaw driver named Mohammad Zaher foiled a chain-snatching attempt by stopping the accused from escaping. The incident took place when a woman was targeted, and Zaher quickly used his vehicle to block the bike of the suspect, preventing him from fleeing the spot.
The entire episode was captured on CCTV footage, which later helped the police identify Zaher. Interestingly, he had left the scene without seeking any attention or recognition after the incident.
Later, Hyderabad Police traced him and honored him with a cash reward and a commendation certificate for his courage and quick response. The incident has been widely appreciated as an example of how a common citizen’s alertness can help prevent crime.
