Two players from Khad FC, a Himachal Pradesh-based football team participating in the Indian Women’s Football (IWL) League second division, accused Deepak Sharma, the club’s owner, of entering their room and physically attacking them.
Goa police arrested Deepak Sharma from the All India Football Federation executive committee. The arrest came after allegations of physical assault by two female players from Khad FC in Himachal Pradesh.
The incident occurred during the Indian Women’s Football League second division. The players accused Sharma, also the club’s owner, of forcefully entering their room and assaulting them on March 28.
Following a formal complaint, Deepak Sharma was summoned for questioning. He was subsequently arrested by Mapusa police on various charges, including causing harm and using force against women, as stated by Deputy Superintendent of Police Sandesh Chodankar to PTI.
