In a shocking incident, Upendra Hudake, a Nepali national residing in Pune, allegedly locked his wife’s genitals shut and brutally assaulted her on May 11, according to officials at the Wakad Police Station in Pimpri-Chinchwad.
The 30-year-old man has been arrested, while the 28-year-old survivor has undergone emergency surgery and is now in stable condition.
Hudake reportedly came home late at night, heavily intoxicated, and began abusing and assaulting his wife. Accusing her of infidelity, he threatened her with a kitchen knife. When she denied the accusation, Hudake tied her up with a stole, cut two holes in her genitals with a sharp blade, inserted iron screws, and affixed a small brass lock. After discarding the key, Hudake left his wife bleeding and screaming for help.
A neighbour, alerted by the commotion, rushed to the house and called for help. The victim was taken to a local hospital, where she underwent emergency surgery.
