Akola, Maharashtra : On 2nd April Police arrested Assistant Sub-Inspector Rajesh Jadhav after a woman in custody reported sexual misconduct at the Civil Lines Police Station.
The incident took place on the night of April 1, 2026. The woman, who was being held in an ₹80 lakh cyber fraud case, said that the officer approached her in the lockup and demanded sexual favors. He told her he would help settle her case if she agreed. He also made offensive remarks about her daughter and said he would give ₹10,000 if she sent her daughter to him.
After the complaint, Superintendent of Police Archit Chandak took immediate action. The officer was suspended and a case was registered under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita on the same night.
Police said the officer tried to escape but was caught on April 2, 2026. The case is under investigation.
