Police in Jehanabad, Bihar, have arrested 46-year-old canteen guard Mukesh (alias Sudama) for the b*utal r*pe and murder of a 5-year-old boy at a residential school hostel. On Sunday night, Mukesh reportedly lured the student to his room and sexually assaulted him. To silence the child’s screams, the suspect used a sharp blade to slit the boy’s throat before abandoning the body on the hostel staircase.
The horrific crime was discovered the following morning after the hostel operator, Tarun Kumar, notified the boy’s father that his son had been hospitalized. Despite being rushed to a multi-specialty facility in Patna, the child was declared dead on arrival due to catastrophic injuries. During interrogation, Mukesh confessed to the act, claiming he was intoxicated and motivated by a desire to defame the institution following disputes with the management and mockery from students.
Authorities have recovered the murder weapon and registered a case under the POCSO Act. While Mukesh remains the primary suspect, the hostel operator has also been taken into custody as investigations continue into potential security lapses. Other staff members were detained for questioning but have since been released as police finalize the details of the case.
