Guy Ashford, General Manager of Australian radio stations 2HD and NEWFM, has been suspended after inappropriately touching presenter Cheralyn Darcey during the Australian Audio Awards.
The incident occurred as Darcey accepted the Best Newcomer On-Air award. Footage from the event shows Ashford rushing onto the stage to congratulate her before grabbing her backside.
The video sparked widespread backlash online, prompting the Super Radio Network to suspend Ashford and launch an internal investigation. Managing Director Graham Mott said he had apologized to Darcey and her husband following the incident.
