In Muzaffarnagar, UP, a wedding was called off after the bride refused to marry the drunk groom.
The groom, Shivam arrived at the bride’s house in a drunken state. During the greeting ritual (dwar char), the groom stumbled and fell face down. He was helped up, his clothes were changed, and he was made to rest. Soon after, he started demanding a Bullet motorcycle as dowry. When the bride’s father refused, the groom abused him and created a scene.
The bride, Karishma firmly said she would not marry a drunkard who disrespected her father and could not handle his responsibilities.
The groom’s family tried to convince the bride, but she did not agree.The wedding procession returned without the bride.
