Survivor Forced to Suffer Public Humiliation After Assault
In Bihar’s Begusarai district, a 30-year-old mother of three faced unimaginable horror when a neighbor repeatedly broke into her home and S*xually Ass*ulted her while her husband was away working as a laborer.
When local villagers finally caught the perpetrator, justice wasn’t served. Instead, an illegal village panchayat was convened. Rather than holding the attacker accountable, the panchayat blamed the survivor—forcing her to undergo the degrading punishment of licking her own sp!t in front of the community.
Silenced by trauma and shame, she was only able to report the crime when her husband returned home weeks later. Police have registered an FIR, made one arrest, and are currently conducting raids to capture the primary attacker. Systemic victim-blaming and illegal kangaroo courts continue to target women in rural areas.
