Chatra, Jharkhand: A 32 year-old man accused of kidnapping and assaulting a schoolgirl was att*cked by an angry mob and later d*ed during treatment.
The accused, identified as Md Emroz, kidnapped the minor and held her captive in his house for two days, where he assaulted her and threatened to m*rder her.
The girl’s family had been searching for her without success. She returned home after 2 days and recounted her ordeal. Enraged villagers gathered, surrounded Emroz’s house, and attacked him. Police arrived, rescued the critically injured man, and took him to a hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
Authorities have placed the girl under protection. Local residents claimed this was not his first offence, stating a previous r*pe case for which he had served jail time in 2023. Police confirmed they are investigating the minor’s allegations and are working to identify and arrest others involved in the mob v*olence.
