Ahmedabad: A 22-year-old interior design student was SAed by a security guard at a residential society in the Anandanagar area.
The student, who had been living as a paying guest, went to the terrace for a walk around 9–10 pm. The security guard approached her and tried to harass her. When she resisted, he attacked her and assaulted her. He then took her phone, locked the terrace door from outside and fled.
Residents later helped her out and took her to a hospital. She is in stable condition but remains deeply traumatised by the incident.
Police used CCTV footage to trace the accused, identified as Dharm Singh from Uttar Pradesh, who had joined the society just a few days earlier and arrested him.
