A college student in Satna, Madhya Pradesh, was ass*ulted by four of her female classmates. The incident happened after she refused to enter into a relationship with a male student. One of the girls took her on a scooter under the pretext of going to the market but instead brought her to a lonely spot near Nagar Van on September 6. Three other girls, who had covered their faces with cloth, were already waiting there. They surrounded the victim and physically ass*ulted her.
During the att*ck, the girls forced the student to apologize to the male student over a video call. The victim was scared and initially kept quiet because her mother is seriously ill and her father lives away from home. The matter came to light later when the video of the assault went viral on social media and reached one of her relatives. On September 11, the victim and her family went to Kolgawan police station and filed a complaint.
Police have registered a named case against the four female students and started an investigation. Officers have examined the viral video and recorded the victim’s statement. The case is being handled by Kolgawan police, and further action will be taken based on the findings of the probe.
