In Sambhal, Uttar Pradesh, groom Rahat Ali refused to bring his wedding procession after his family’s demand for a Scorpio car as dowry was not met. The couple had been in a relationship for around 2.5 years, and their wedding had been fixed for a year. The bride’s family had spent around ₹25 lakh on the wedding arrangements.
The family had arranged a feast for guests, but the groom did not arrive, leaving the bride and her family devastated. Police are investigating the matter.
