In a disturbing incident from Panipat, Haryana, a 16-year-old minor girl was rap*d after her female friends tricked her into leaving home. On June 26, the accused girls, including one named Shivani along with her sister and two others, reached the victim’s house claiming they were taking her for coaching classes. The girls arrived in a car driven by a man named Rohit. When the minor came out, they forcibly pulled her into the vehicle despite her resistance.
The group took her to a secluded factory. En route, when the girl questioned their destination, the friends physically restrained her while the driver, Rohit, began molesting her. They then drove to an isolated factory spot, where the friends helped the driver by holding the victim. The girl screamed for help from a passerby but received none. The accused also threatened her with dire consequences if she informed her family. The victim later told her mother about the ordeal while in a traumatized, withdrawn state.
Police have registered an FIR and medical examination has been conducted. Based on the complaint, Sadar police station registered a case under the POCSO Act and other relevant sections against the driver Rohit and the three girls involved. The minor was taken to the civil hospital for medical examination, and further investigation is underway.
