Pune: Tourists assaulted at Sinhagad Fort over their choice of attire, specifically shorts and sleeveless clothes.
On Sunday, a resident of Dhayari visited the fort with his family and friends. When the group was confronted because his 8-year-old daughter was wearing Bermuda shorts, members of the organization asked them, “Why is she wearing shorts?” and “Don’t you have an understanding of Hindu culture?” They then ordered the family to leave, triggering a heated argument.
As the dispute escalated, three individuals allegedly slapped the man, while a woman pulled his wife. Upon descending the fort, the man reported the incident to a police patrol team and lodged a formal complaint at the Haveli Police Station. During the investigation, police discovered that the accused had also assaulted three other groups over similar attire issues.
Pune Rural Police have registered a case against eight individuals associated with the organization, including Sanket Sanjay Patil, Ashish Dilip Apar, Revan Narayan Kokate, Sayali Sujeet Chavan, and Ketaki.
