The Kerala High Court has upheld an order directing a man to pay ₹10,000 per month as maintenance to his estranged wife, despite his claim of having a 70% disability.
The court noted that disability alone could not be used to avoid maintenance, particularly when the husband was found to have the financial means to make the payment. The case also involved the husband’s alleged admission that he had married the woman expecting her to care for him and his mother.
