Vaishnavi, a receptionist at a private school, was returning home from work in Telangana’s Jadcherla area after getting down from a bus. She was just around 100 meters from her house when Teja intercepted her on the road. According to police, Teja had been harassing Vaishnavi for months after she repeatedly rejected his advances . He became angry after learning about her engagement recently.
Teja then attacked Vaishnavi in public and s*it her throat, triggering panic among the people nearby. Witnesses immediately rushed toward the spot and shifted her to a hospital for treatment, while others chased Teja as he tried to flee after the assault.
The crowd later caught Teja and assaulted him before the police reached the scene. Vaishnavi later succumbed to her injuries during treatment, while Teja also died later from injuries suffered in the mob attack. Police are currently investigating both the murder and the assault on the accused.
