A 33-year-old woman from Noida, identified as Twisha Sharma, was found dead at her in-laws’ home in Bhopal just five months after her marriage. Twisha, who was also a former Miss Pune 2012, had married Bhopal-based advocate Samarth Singh in December 2025. Her family said that she had been facing mental harassment, domestic violence, and pressure from her husband and in-laws since the marriage.
According to the family, Twisha made a final phone call to her mother on the night of the incident and spoke about the problems she was facing at her matrimonial home. Her brother, said the call suddenly disconnected after her husband entered the room. The family then tried contacting Twisha, her husband Samarth and her mother-in-law, multiple times. A few minutes later, they were informed that Twisha was not breathing. She was later taken to a hospital where doctors declared her dead on arrival.
The family has also accused the in-laws of forcing Twisha to terminate her pregnancy and pressuring her over financial matters. The post-mortem report stated that she died due to hanging and also mentioned multiple injuries on her body. Police have registered an FIR against the husband and mother-in-law under charges related to dowry harassment and abetment to su*cide.
