A 16-year-old schoolgirl in Maharashtra’s Bhiwandi displayed remarkable courage and presence of mind after escaping a kidnapping attempt while on her way to school.
When the teenager boarded an autorickshaw, an unidentified man was already seated inside the vehicle. As the rickshaw approached her school, the girl asked the driver to stop, but instead of slowing down, he accelerated and continued driving.
Realizing that something was wrong, the teenager acted quickly. She pulled out a geometry compass from her school bag and stabbed the driver to create an opportunity to escape. She pushed away the man sitting beside her and jumped out of the moving autorickshaw. Despite the frightening ordeal, she managed to reach her school safely. Later, she informed her mother, after which a complaint was lodged with police.
