Entitlement vs. Consent

During a comedy show, comedian Pranit More was interacting with an audience member, Himanshu Jangra, who shared a story about taking a woman on a date and spending around ₹370 on biryani. After the date, the woman asked to be dropped home instead of going to his room, implying that because he had spent money on her, he expected something in return.

The audience laughed as Himanshu narrated the incident, and Pranit More responded by calling it “Peak Gurgaon content.”

This incident highlights how some people still view consent as something that can be earned or expected after spending money on a woman. It reflects a deeply problematic mindset where basic acts like paying for a meal are treated as a transaction for physical intimacy.

Following criticism, Pranit More apologized, saying that he should have challenged the remark instead of laughing along. Himanshu Jangra also later apologized for his comments.
