3 sisters from UP’s Amroha district have married the same man, citing their unwillingness to live apart after marriage. The sisters—Saroj (20), Savitri (19), and Santosh (18)—are social media content creators.
They tied the knot with their cameraman Vikas on July 17 at a temple in a ceremony where no family members from either side were present. Temple authorities noted that no priest was present at the temple due to ongoing renovation work. Videos of Vikas applying vermilion to each sister after performing wedding rituals went viral. The sisters had been working with Vikas for about 6 months, often featuring him as a husband figure in their videos.
The unusual marriage has no legal recognition under the Hindu Marriage Act, as a Hindu man cannot legally marry multiple women simultaneously, according to legal experts. Police have spoken to the families, who have not objected, and no formal complaint has been filed so far.
