In a shocking incident in Uttar Pradesh, 23-year-old woman constable Lata and her two-year-old son Awansh (Laddu) were allegedly burnt alive in a meticulously planned murder staged as a road accident.
Lata, was returning from a family trip to Nainital with her husband Dan Singh Yadav and his relative. Police investigations later revealed that Dan, along with his brother-in-law Ravi and accomplices, had sedated Lata, doused the vehicle with petrol, and set it ablaze to claim nearly ₹2-3 crore in insurance payouts and service benefits. While the toddler perished in the flames, Lata managed to escape the burning car only to be battered to death with a hammer in another vehicle.
Dan Singh Yadav’s first marriage also ended in tragedy under mysterious circumstances. Rajni, his 1st wife died in a reported road accident. Police are now re-examining that case as well.
