Blinded by Acid Attack at 3, Kafi Triumphs as Class 12 Topper in her School – Dreams of IAS
Kafi was just 3 years old when three neighbors in Haryana’s Hisar district threw acid on her out of jealousy. The attack robbed her of her eyesight and scarred her for life. But 17-year-old Kafi has now risen above her trauma to top her Class 12 exams at the Blind School in Chandigarh with an impressive 95.6%.
Despite the horrific attack, Kafi pursued her studies using audiobooks and remained committed to her goals. She now aspires to study Political Science at Delhi University and dreams of becoming an IAS officer.
“Those who did this to me are still roaming free,” she says, highlighting the lack of justice even after all these years. But Kafi’s focus remains unwavering. “My scars are my strength,” she says.
Her father, a peon at the Mini Secretariat in Chandigarh, beams with pride as his daughter continues to defy the odds, inspiring everyone with her courage and resolve.
