Bengaluru Robbers Ambush Women, Chop Fingers

Two bike-borne men ambushed victims, Usha and Varalakshmi while returning from a Ganesh festival. Praveen and Yogananda, demanded their gold chains. Usha, terrified, surrendered her chain without resistance, but Varalakshmi resisted.
Yogananda struck her with a machete, chopping off two fingers. The women screamed as blood flowed, but the men fled with the chain.

Bystanders rushed to help, but the duo escaped. Girinagar police acted swiftly, arresting Praveen and Yogananda after weeks of search .Yogananda, a known criminal with a prior murder case, had fled to Puducherry, Mumbai, and Goa before returning to his Karnataka village. Police recovered the machete and stolen chains. The case, filed under IPC sections for robbery and grievous hurt, underscores Bengaluru’s rising chain-snatching menace.
