Gorakhpur, UP : A 24-year-old woman working at BRD Medical College in the Gulriha area of Gorakhpur publicly confronted Gram Pradhan candidate Dilip Tiwari, accusing him of repeated harassment, obscene remarks, and caste-based slurs.
According to her complaint, Tiwari had frequently made inappropriate comments and attempted to offer her lifts under the guise of assistance. While she was walking near the fields, he approached her and began making obscene remarks, prompting her to take action. She then pursued him on a bike, with her nephew accompanying her, and caught up after about 1.5 kilometers. She pulled him off his motorcycle and confronted him publicly in the presence of bystanders, an incident that was later captured on video and circulated widely.
Following the confrontation, both parties filed FIRs. The woman lodged a complaint citing harassment and caste-based insults, while Tiwari filed a counter-FIR alleging assault and damage to his property. Police have registered both cases and launched an investigation.
